Post-screening discussion with filmmaker Judith Lit, Chef Daniel Boulud, Hudson Valley farmer Sarah Chase, and Food & Wine magazine's Alexandra Vallis

Seen through the eyes of family farmers in southwest France, After Winter, Spring is an intimate portrait of an ancestral way of life under threat in a world increasingly dominated by large-scale industrial agriculture.

The screening is followed by a conversation about food and farming with filmmaker Judith Lit, Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud, speaking about his experience growing up on his family’s farm in France, as well as Sarah Chase, a young Hudson Valley dairy farmer who runs a family farm with her brother. The discussion will be moderated by Alexandra Vallis, Digital Director of Food & Wine magazine.

The screening is being hosted by the French Institute/Alliance Française in the beautiful Florence Gould Hall, and is being presented in partnership with Slow Food NYC, National Young Farmers Coalition, and New York Women in Film and Television.

Following the screening and discussion, meet local farmers who will be selling their best products of the season. Curated by Farm to People
